Hauppauge PVR Problem?

I've had a Hauppauge HD PVR for a while now and I've been recently having a problem where whenever I record something, sometimes the hauppauge will stop recording for about 3 -5 seconds and start recording again. I've only seen it do it once in any single video but it cuts out about 3-5 seconds out of the video and then continues to where it starts recording again. Is there any way to prevent this?
