I want to take out my eyebrow piercing for good ?

I got my eyebrow piercing on march 21st 2011. Lately its been pusing a lot but its not painful. I'm just tired of having it and I want to get rid of it. I wanna remove it but I'm scared it'll scar or get infected. Is there anything I should do to prevent this?
